Why retire the desktop version?
Our CD desktop version is discontinued. The growing majority of the market desire the portability of a web-based product. The changing legal landscape involving HIPAA, HITECH, DSM-5, ICD-10, and ethical best practices make on-going updates and compliance using a desktop product challenging, if even possible, for practices. Therefore, we have switched to a web based subscription application to be able to instantly deliver content and updates to the whole customer base as best practices require.
What about updates and planner modules?
Unlike the retired CD desktop version, the web based version includes access to ALL treatment planner, progress note planner, and homework planner modules as part of the subscription. You no longer have to buy modules. Additionally, new features and security updates will be included as part of the monthly subscription. Some special modules may have an additional fee only if you choose to opt-in because those additional fees are required by 3rd parties to offer those services, for example, licensing fees or transaction fees for electronic claim submission.
I'm worried about storing my data in the cloud.
TherapyCharts is a fully HIPAA compliant EHR, and because your patient records are not stored on your local computer, so if you machine is lost, stolen, or just breaks, don't worry. Storing in the cloud is actually safer then storing the data locally. Just get a new machine and log back in and all you data will be there. We handle the HIPAA technology security issues, not you. As it should be. You’ve got more important things to worry about.
What is the monthly subscription rate?
To make it affordable for solo practices, the full time per-clinician monthly subscription is about equivalent to one billable hour of a therapy session to medicare or the average home cable bill -- only $75/mo. After you see one patient you've got your subscription covered. It's a simple monthly fee billed to your credit card. Additional non-clinicial support staff are free. If you choose to pay in advance for 1 year you can get an additional 10% off. Additional pricing options are available to educational institutions, students, non-profit organizations, group practices, and for part-time. Contact us if one of those situations apply to you.
